CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE
Dale Corman, Western’s Executive Chairman, provides commentary on the Company and the copper market in his letter to
shareholders:
“It is now apparent that there is no possibility that copper supply will match demand in the foreseeable future. Copper demand
will exceed supply in 2018 and the supply gap will progressively become worse as we move forward. Exchange inventories will
quickly decline and there will be a scramble by consumers to secure copper to meet their needs. This should result in a
substantial rise in the price of copper and the shares of those copper companies that have large economic copper reserves.
“Our Casino deposit is in the enviable position of offering substantial production, initially producing over 100,000 tonnes per
annum of copper, an attractive location, and superior economics – even at conservative copper prices. These factors put it at
the top of any list of new development targets.”
