Hansa Announces the Passing of President and CEO John Nugent

Vancouver, Canada - Hansa Resources Ltd. (“Hansa” or the “Company”) (TSXV -HRL) announces with

regret that Mr. John Nugent, the President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company, passed

away over the weekend following an illness.

Mr. Robert Atkinson, Chairman of the Company, stated “The passing of Mr. Nugent is sad news and

having had the pleasure of knowing and working with John for many years, it is difficult to have to inform

shareholders of this loss. John was a gentleman and worked hard to advance the development of Hansa.

The Board wishes to convey our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to John’s wife, children, family, and

friends. John will be missed by all.”

At this time Mr. Atkinson has taken on the position of interim CEO of the Company.
