True North Gems Corporate Update
Vancouver – February 20, 2017 – True North Gems Inc. (TGX: TSX‐V, or “the Company”)
announces today, the resignation of Nicholas Houghton as CEO, President and Director
and the appointment of Andrew Lee Smith as Interim CEO.
The Board wishes to thank Mr. Houghton for his service since being appointed in 2010
and is pleased to have Mr. Smith accept the Interim CEO position. Mr. Smith is the
Founder, former CEO of True North Gems and has served as a Director since 2001.
In appointing the Interim CEO, the Board has charged Mr. Smith with a mandate to
advance the interests of shareholders through the evaluation of strategic alternatives to
recover shareholder value, providing oversight in the search for experienced
management candidates capable of developing and executing a revised business plan,
and, holding Greenland authorities accountable for a fair and transparent bankruptcy
process currently being applied to the Company’s majority owned Greenlandic
subsidiary.
