South Star Updates Santa Cruz 43-101 Report

NEWS RELEASE

March 23 rd, 2018 – Vancouver, B.C. - South Star Mining Corp. (“South Star” or the

“Company”) (TSXV: STS.H) announced today that the Company has made minor amendments

to the Santa Cruz Graphite Project’s 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment report (the

“Report”) as requested by the TSX Venture Ex change to ensure proper disclosure. These

amendments do not in any way affect the economic valuation of the Santa Cruz Graphite Project

outlined in the Report.

The following amendments were made. Certain por tions where inferred and indicated resources

were combined have been revised so that inferred and indicated resources are now shown

separately. In Section 4.3.2 the Property De scription was amended to provide additional

background on how the claims comprising the prope rty were acquired. Section 9.1 - General

Exploration was revised to include disclosure on a prior, but now expired option on the property.

Finally, a standard disclaimer respecting the econo mic viability of mineral resources in general

and inferred resources in particular has been a dded to the end of Section 22.0 in the Economic

Analysis.
