NEWS RELEASE NO. 2010-02

Montreal, Qc, Canada                                                                                                      January 13, 2010

STELLAR PACIFIC VENTURES TO UPDATE RESOURCES AT ITS VAL D’OR «VASSAN PROPERTY» AND TO TEST DRILL EAST EXTENSION OF HAMELIN ZONE

Montreal, January 13th, 2010 - STELLAR PACIFIC VENTURES INC. (TSX-V:SPX) ("Stellar" or the "Company") announces that following a strategic evaluation of its gold properties, the Company decided to update the mineral resources of the Vassan Project and to test drill the East extension of the Hamelin Gold Zone. The Vassan Project is located in the heart of the famous Val D' Or Mining Camp in North-western Quebec.

Stellar intends to update the mineral resources on the Hamelin Gold Zone. In 2006 a NI 43-101 report was prepared and a resource calculation was made for the Hamelin Zone showing an Indicated Resource of 385,054 tons of 5,01g Au / t , 0,19 % Cu and 3,41g Ag/ t and an Inferred Resource of 62 600 tons of 4,15g Au / t, 0,10 % Cu and 1,32g Ag /

t. The Hamelin Zone remained opened laterally and at depth.

Based on successful results obtained by the company in subsequent drilling of the Hamelin Zone and current gold and metal value, this new calculation will allow to refine the interpretation of the gold-bearing zones, and to verify the potential of extension of zone laterally and at-depth as well as to restructure the database accordingly. This assessment was granted to Mr. Jacques Marchland Ing. Geologist and Qualified Person as per NI 43-101

The corporate objective of this program is to promote the economic aspect of the Vassan Project due to current gold price and strategic location in the middle of the booming Val D'Or Gold Camp.

Stellar Pacific Ventures Inc. owns 100% of the Vassan Project which consists of 7 claims covering 280 hectares. The Vassan project is located along the Cadillac Break and is close to several current and former gold producers, namely the Siscoe Mine, a former producer, just to the South of the Property which is reported to be the fifth largest mine in the history of the Val d'Or district with a total production from 1929 to 1949 of 27.5 t of gold, the Kiena Gold Mine, a current producer situated 5 km to the southwest, the Sullivan Mine 3.5 km to the southwest and finally the Wesdome Mine, a current producer is situated at 3.0 km to the West.

The review and interpretation of the known gold-bearing zones and the restructuring of the database is in progress and the Company expects to start a drilling program on the extension of the Hamelin Zone in February.

About Stellar Pacific Ventures Inc.

Stellar is a junior mining company engaged in both domestic and international mineral exploration and development. Stellar is exploring for gold and has two major projects in Quebec, namely the Vassan Gold Project located on the famous Cadillac Fault, adjacent to Wesdome’s Kiena Gold Mine in Val D’Or in the Abitibi area.

Stellar also has the option to acquire 100% of the Monster Lake Project, being the former Soquem’s Fancamp Project, a well documented project, developed by SOQUEM from 1985 to 1995. SOQUEM partially outlined and described a gold mineralized corridor oriented NE/SW over a distance of more than 12 km and identified within the limit of company’s property four (4) gold mineralized structures namely, the Structure 52, 45, Nouvelles and Eratix, all showing impressive gold content drill intersections.
