NEWS RELEASE
Vancouver – Friday, January 29, 2010 – Killdeer Minerals Inc. – KMI: TSX.V (“Killdeer” or the “Company”) has been informed by the owners of the Wildcat 92 mineral claim in the Yukon Territory, which was optioned to Killdeer as part of the Wildcat Property, that a native group has commenced litigation requesting the court to cancel this mineral claim because of the Yukon government’s alleged failure to consult with them at the time of the grant.
The Company has not yet been named as a respondent in this action, but Killdeer will seek to be added, and intends to vigorously defend its optioned interest in this mineral claim.
The Company holds the exclusive option to acquire a 100% interest in the Wildcat Property, consisting of a total of 94 contiguous mineral claims, subject to a 3% net smelter returns royalty reserved to the optionors, which can be reduced at the election of the Company to 1.5% at any time upon payment of $1 million to the optionors.
The Company completed a diamond drill program on the Wildcat Property in late 2009 consisting of five drill holes totaling 904 meters (see news release January 7, 2010). The Company's qualified person, as defined under NI 43--101 is Dr. K. Mastalerz, who has recommended that further surveys of the property be initiated in the spring of 2010.
