Red Hut Metals acquires Norgate prospect at the Conuma Project, West-Central Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Vancouver, British Columbia – Red Hut Metals Inc. (the “Company” or “Red Hut Metals) has acquired by staking, mineral tenure covering the Norgate prospect, which is adjacent to and contiguous with its Conuma property.
The Conuma property is wholly-owned by Red Hut Metals and is located 28 kilometres northwest of the community of Gold River on west-central Vancouver Island. The addition of the Norgate prospect into the Conuma property increases the size of the property, bringing the total number of hectares to 6,098. The Norgate and nearby Dragon prospects host mineralization considered similar to volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization at Nyrstar’s Myra Falls operating mine (http://www.nyrstar.com), 66 kilometres to the southeast.
The Norgate prospect was discovered in the early 1990’s and has seen some intermittent exploration, including limited drilling. It is underlain by rocks of the mid-Paleozoic Sicker Group, the same rocks that host the Myra Falls mine which is the largest producing VMS deposit in western Canada. Zinc, lead, copper and anomalous gold mineralization has been reported from a relatively shallow (722 metre) 3-hole drill program on the property.
Red Hut Metals is pleased with the acquisition of the Norgate prospect and considers it, and the greater Conuma property, very prospective for VMS type mineralization. The Company plans to commence fieldwork beginning in April 2014 that will include geological mapping and sampling at the Norgate.
