Harmony Gold Corp. appoints Project Engineer for Lucky Shot Gold Mine

Vancouver, BC, March 29, 2010 – Harmony Gold Corp. (the “Company”) announces the appointment of Michael Petrina, P.Eng., MBA as Project Engineer for the Company’s Lucky Shot Gold Mine.

Mr. Petrina brings 27 years of operational, project and mine management experience to the Company. Since the early 1980s, he has held positions with a number of companies including Chief Engineer Mine Services of Miramar Mining Corporation, Manager of Mining of Pan American Silver Corporation, General Manager, Operations of Adanca Molybdenum Corporation and most recently Vice President Operations of Hawthorne Gold Corp. During his career, Mr. Petrina also acted as an independent consultant to several companies such as Pacific Booker Minerals Inc., Silvercorp Metals Inc. and Kimber Resources Inc.

Mr. Petrina is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia and a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. He has an Executive MBA from the University of Athabasca and received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University.
