Orvana Minerals Corp. Announces the Additions to Board of Directors

Toronto, Ontario, February 26, 2009 -- Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX:ORV) announced today the addition of Roland Horst and Jorge Szasz to the company's board of directors. Mr. Horst was recently appointed as Orvana's Chief Executive Officer and has 35 years of mining industry experience as a chief executive officer, investment banker, corporate banker and geologist. Mr. Szasz has extensive experience in the mining industry and served as a director of Orvana and as the company's Chief Financial Officer from 2002 to 2005.
