NORTHERN LION ADVISES OF EXTENSION FOR FILING ANNUAL STATEMENTS

April 24, 2020 TSX-V Symbol: NL

Frankfurt Symbol: N3E

Vancouver, British Columbia: Northern Lion Gold Corp. (the “Company”) announces that it will not be

in a position to file its audited annual financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2019 and

the related management's discussion and analysis, as required by Parts 4 and 5 of National Instrument 51-

102: Continuous Disclosure Obligations , and corresponding officer certifications under National

Instrument 52-109: Certification of Disclosure in Issuers' Annual and Interim Filings (collectively, the

"Annual Filings") by the filing deadline of April 29, 2020.

This news release is being issued in accordance with the blanket relief of a 45-day extension, provided by

Canadian Securities Administrators and B C Instrument 51-515: Temporary Exemption from Certain

Corporate Finance Requirements, for periodic filings normally required to be made by issuers during the

period from March 23, 2020 to June 1, 2020.

As a result of recent declarations from Canadian health authorities and the challenges resulting from the

COVID-19 pandemic, the Company's personnel as well as its auditor's staff have been working remotely

making the coordination of tasks and work product more difficult and resulting in delays in completing

audit procedures and a slowing of the entire audit process. As a result, the finalization and filing of the

Annual Filings is dela yed. However, the Company is working expeditiously to meet the Company's

obligations relating to the filing of the Annual Filings and, at present, anticipates being able to complete

the Annual Filings by May 15, 2020.

The Company confirms that its management and other insiders are subject to an insider trading black -out

policy that reflects the principles in section 9 of National Policy 11- 207: Failure-to-File Cease Trade

Orders and Revocations in Multiple Jurisdictions, such that they are in a black-out period until the end of

the second trading day after the Annual Filings have been filed.

In March, 2020, the Company extended the deadline for making the final option payment of $37,000 to

acquire a 100% interest in the Riverside property consisting of three mineral claims totalling 491.6 hectares

in the Kamloops Mining Division of British Columbia as follows:

1. an upfront payment of $3,500 (paid); and

2. the remaining $33,500 on or before March 4, 2021.

Save as aforesaid, there have no material business developments in the Company since September 30, 2019,

being the date of the last interim financial reports filed by the Company.
