NEWS RELEASE

Lundin Mining Reports on Labour Action at Candelaria

Toronto, October 7, 2020 (TSX: LUN; Nasdaq Stockholm: LUMI) Lundin Mining Corporation (“Lundin Mining”

or the “Company”) announced today that mediation with the Candelaria Mine Workers Union (the “Union”), which

represents approximately 350 workers at its Candelaria operations in Chile, has ended without an agreement.

The Union is now legally on strike commencing October 8, 2020.

At this time, the Company does not expect a material impact on Candelaria’s operations, including production or

shipment of concentrate, as a result of labour action by the Candelaria Mine Workers Union.

The previous collective agreement with the Union expired on September 30, 20 20. Candelaria and the Union

subsequently entered into a mediation process in which multiple improved offers were presented to the Union

leadership. The parties voluntarily agreed to extend the mediation period by one day so the Union leadership

could present the last offer to their members and vote. Union leadership did not respect the agreement and

informed Candelaria today that the Union would not meet the agreed timeline or vote on the offer. Candelaria is

committed to responsible, respectful, and fair negotiations with the best interests of our workers and the

sustainability of our business in mind.

As part of the collective bargaining cycle, Candelaria is also in the legislated negotiation process with the

Candelaria AOS Union, which represents approximately 550 members. An agreement was reached with the LMC

AOS Union during advanced negotiations in May 2020. Collective bargaining with the two remaining unions, which

combined represent approximately 230 supervisors, is expected to commence late this month.
