Lode Gold Resources Inc (TSXV:
LOD) (OTCQB: LODFF)
("Lode Gold" or the "Company") is pleased that it has added engineering
expertise to the Technical Advisory Board for Fremont Gold Mine.
Roberto Llovet Vazquez is a mine
engineer with in-depth underground mining experience. He specializes in in operating and bringing
underground mining projects to production, increasing output, while keeping closes control on costs.
Roberto Llovet Vázquez is a Mine Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid with over a
decade of underground mining operations experience, specializing in mine development and cost-
efficient mineral exploitation.
He has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) across multiple underground producing and
development-stage operations in Spain, Peru, and Mexico, spanning Cut & Fill, Long Hole, and Room &
Pillar mining methods. His track record includes restarting a Buenaventura spin-out silver mine in Peru
that had been under care and maintenance for several years. Roberto was instrumental in returning it to
profitable production, cutting costs by 50% and scaling output by more than 100% - both within 12
months.
Additionally, he led the rapid advancement of an underground tungsten-gold intrusive project in Spain
from Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) to Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and oversaw
operations and development at four producing underground silver mines for Grupo México in Chihuahua,
Mexico.
Recently, as COO at Minas de Alquife (Granada, Spain) at the largest iron open pit in Europe and
concurrently Minera de Órgiva (Granada, Spain), a polymetallic underground operation, he successfully
doubled production while cutting operating costs in half.
As a result of his underground experience Roberto is technically skilled in underground ventilation,
blasting design, rock mass support, and metallurgical plant construction.
"Roberto has hands-on experience taking underground mines through the full development cycle - from
PEA to feasibility-level engineering to production optimization - which is directly applicable to where we
are today at Fremont," said Wendy T. Chan, CEO and Director of Lode Gold. "He has executed
underground mining at scale across multiple jurisdictions.
"Roberto adds relevant experience to our current technical team, which includes Bill Fisher, former
Chairman of Aurelian, who discovered the Fruta del Norte gold mine in Ecuador - later acquired by
Kinross, and now Lundin Gold's flagship asset - and Martin Stratte, who brings experience permitting
mines in California, including Equinox's restart of Castle Mountain. We now have a great balance of
technical expertise spanning geology, engineering, and permitting as we advance the project in 2027."
The Technical and Permitting Advisory team now includes:
Bill Fisher
(Geology)
- Bill has as a successful track record, highlighted by notable exits. As CEO in the
1990's, he led the discovery of the large underground mine at Aripuana Brazil, now owned by Nexa. In
the late 1990s, Bill served as Vice President of Exploration for Boliden AB, a major European mining
and smelting company, where he managed 35 projects across nine countries, six of which were
underground. His career highlights include serving as Chairman of Aurelian Resources, which
discovered the Fruta del Norte gold deposit in Ecuador, leading to the company's acquisition by Kinross
Gold for $1.2 billion in 2008. Bill also helped transformed GlobeStar Mining from an exploration
company to an emerging producer, having been instrumental in developing the Cerro de Maimon
copper/gold mine in the Dominican Republic, which was completed on time and under budget. This
project was sold to Perilya for $186 million.
With over 40 years in the mining industry, Bill is renowned for his expertise in exploration, development,
and strategic leadership. His career began in Africa, where he spent a decade working on diamond
exploration and mining projects, including significant discoveries of kimberlites in the Congo and
contributions to exploration efforts in West Africa.
Until recently, Bill served as Chairman of GoldQuest Mining, overseeing the development of a 3-million-
ounce gold discovery in the Dominican Republic. He holds directorships in several mining companies,
including Inventus Mining and Churchill Resources, and he previously served as Chairman of Treasury
Metals now called (NexGold Mining Corp), which is developing the Goliath Gold Complex in Ontario.
Gary Wong P. Eng (VP Exploration, Engineer)
- Gary Wong is a seasoned underground geologist
with over 30 years of global experience in mining exploration and production. He began his career with a
decade-long tenure at Placer Dome Inc., leading projects from grassroots to feasibility studies. Notable
projects include Endako Mine, Las Cristinas, Seabee, Mt. Milligan, and Bulyanhulu, the latter three of
which transitioned to underground mining.Gary has worked extensively across Canada, Europe, Latin
America, and Africa, adapting to diverse environments from the Arctic to the Tropics.
David Gunning (Mining Engineer)
- David has over 35 years of experience, specializing in
underground gold mining. He has led key initiatives in mine engineering and geology, as well as
corporate management and supervision in his roles as COO, VP, and Director. In addition, David had
been a P. Eng and QP ("Qualified Person") and had written and co-authored numerous NI 43-101
technical reports. Most recently, David, as VP Operations of Bluestone Resources, was involved in the
completion of the positive feasibility study on the Cerro Blanco project in Guatemala while also having a
leadership role at the Guatemala project site. Prior to that, he was the COO and Director for Starcore
International Mines, profitably operating the San Martin gold mine in Mexico.
Carlos Saban BSc. (Fremont Project Lead, Geology)
- Carlos is an accomplished mining geologist
with expertise in mineralized systems, resource development, and mine economics. He brings more
than a decade of international exploration experience, having contributed to the discovery and expansion
of three world-class mineral deposits across three continents. He began his career in Peru with
Buenaventura, where he played a key role in advancing the geological understanding and resource
growth of both greenfield and brownfield projects. Throughout his career, Carlos has been involved in the
identification, delineation, and geological modelling of several NI 43-101-compliant, multi-million-ounce
precious metals projects. Most recently, he contributed to the expansion of the resource at Silver X
Mining's Nueva Recuperada silver project, helping grow the resource to more than 250 million ounces of
silver.
