and Grants 1,200,000 Incentive Stock Options

Vancouver, B.C. – May 1, 2017 – K2 Gold Corporation (“K2” or the “Company”) (KTO:TSX-V) is pleased

to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Scott as Chief Financial Officer.

Robert Scott, CPA, CA, CFA brings more than 20 years of professional experience in accounting,

corporate finance, and merchant and commercial banking and has served on the management teams and

boards of a number of Canadian publicly traded compa nies. He is a founder and president of Corex

Management Inc., a private company providing accounting, administration, and corporate compliance

services to privately held and p ublicly traded companies. Mr. Scott currently holds senior management

and board positions with a number of TSX Venture Exchange Issuers including Riverside Resources Inc.,

Great Bear Resources Ltd. and Northern Empire Resources Corp.

This appointment come s with the departure of Ms. Vivien Chuang as Chief Financial Officer . The

Company wishes to thank Ms. Chuang for her contributions to the Company over the past two years and

wishes her every success with future endeavours.

The Company has also granted, under its Share Option Plan, incentive stock options to certain directors,

officers and consultants of the Company to purchase an aggregate of 1,200,000 common shares

exercisable for a period of up to five years from the date of grant at a price of $0.30 per share. This grant

is subject to acceptance for filing by the TSX Venture Exchange.
