News Release April 29, 2010 TUMI IP SURVEY DEFINES DRILL TARGETS AT JONSMOSSEN AND LOVASEN IN SWEDEN Vancouver, Canada – Tumi Resources Limited (the “Company”) (TSXV-TM; Pink Sheets – TUMIF; Frankfurt - TUY). David Henstridge, President, reports that three pole-dipole induced polarisation (IP) traverses were recently completed over the Jonsmossen prospect and one pole-dipole induced polarisation traverse was completed over the Lovasen project area in Sweden. To ensure high resolution mapping of any potential conductors, and/or chargeable bodies, 25m spaced receiver dipoles were used. The objective of the IP survey lines at both Jonsmossen and Lovasen was to pinpoint the source depth of airborne electro-magnetic (AEM) anomalies discovered by an airborne geophysical survey performed in 2008 (see news release dated April 29th, 2008).
The Jonsmossen licences are located at the southern end of the Stollberg synform, a well known trend of historic base metal mines. The historic Lovasen mines consist of at least eleven workings in skarn hosted orebodies that were mined for lead, silver and zinc ore between 1630 and 1954; they were subsequently abandoned and flooded.
An independent geophysicist has reviewed the IP data and made the following comments: “The three Jonsmossen traverses were undertaken in a north-south orientation to follow-up on a previously discovered AEM anomaly. The two most westerly traverses defined a very good vertical conductor that strikes slightly north of east-west. The most easterly line displays an off-line expression of this conductor. The conductor at the Jonsmossen project rates as a high priority anomaly”. As well for Lovasen, the geophysicist stated: “The IP traverse at the Lovasen Project was undertaken in a north-south orientation to investigating an east-west striking linear conductor identified in a previously completed AEM survey. The resultant model reflecting the data indicates that this anomaly was sourced by an increase thickness and conductivity of the cover; however, just to the north of the AEM linear conductor, in the IP resistivity model, there is a subtle low resistivity feature at depth. This feature is along strike from a second linear conductor identified in the AEM data and may represent an off-line expression of this conductor. Interestingly, this IP low resistivity feature is coincident with a coherent chargeable zone. Further, again to the north, there is a second deeper chargeable body; however, its form indicates that it is either striking at a high angle or is off-line from the IP traverse”.
Mr Henstridge stated “this survey completes our surface exploration work prior to drilling on all of our 100% owned licences in Sweden. The AEM and ground IP have previously discovered drill targets at Vitturn and Tomtebo and have now found further drill targets at Jonsmossen and Lovasen. These targets are in addition to further drilling required at our discovery last year at Sala of a new zone of silver-zinc mineralization. The Company continues to explore means of financing such an interesting portfolio of targets in the well known silver and base metal mining district of Bergslagen in Sweden”.
The qualified person for Tumi’s projects in Sweden, Anders Hogrelius, a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has visited all of the Company’s Swedish properties in Bergslagen and has verified the contents of this news release.
