IEMR Resources Inc. Clarifies Technical Disclosure
Vancouver, Canada – May 15, 2012 – IEMR Resources Inc. (“IEMR” or the “Company”) (TSXV: IRI) announces that, as a result of a review by the British Columbia Securities Commission (the “BCSC”), it is issuing the following news release to clarify certain disclosure relating to the Pine Tree Project in Nevada, USA (the “Pine Tree Project”).
The BCSC has expressed concern that Shaun M. Dykes, MSc. (Eng), P.Geo, a co-author of the technical report dated February 20, 2012 prepared for the Company in respect of the Pine Tree Project (the “Technical Report”), might not be independent in accordance with the standard of independence contained in National Instrument 43-101 (“NI 43-101”). The Technical Report was required under NI 43- 101 to have been prepared by or under the supervision of independent qualified persons, as the Technical Report supported the Company’s first time disclosure on February 14, 2012 of mineral resources in respect of the Pine Tree Project (the “Pine Tree Mineral Resource Estimate”). Gary Giroux, P.Eng, MASc., the co-author of the Technical Report, prepared the mineral resource estimations contained in the Technical Report, and the BCSC has not questioned the independence of Mr. Giroux. Mr. Dykes was responsible for all aspects of the Technical Report except for the mineral resource estimation. Although the Company believes circumstances that might compromise Mr. Dykes’ independence are questionable, it has decided to arrange for another independent qualified person to assume responsibility for all of the information prepared by Mr. Dykes, with the goal of having a new technical report prepared in respect of the Pine Tree Project as soon as possible.
Until such time as the Pine Tree Mineral Resource Estimate is independently verified and supported by replacement technical report, the Pine Tree Mineral Resource Estimate is considered to be unsupported by a compliant NI 43-101 technical report, contrary to NI 43-101, and as such the Pine Tree Mineral Resource Estimate should not be relied upon.
In addition, as a result of the BCSC’s review, the Company also wishes to retract certain statements previously made by the Company on the Company’s website. The Company’s website previously disclosed the following: an exploration target of “+1 billion tons grading +0.06% molybdenum, +0.25% copper, 100 ppb rhenium, 2 grams of silver per ton, 0.1 grams of gold per ton with indium and gallium”, which estimate did not comply with sections 2.3(1)(a) and 2.3(2) of NI 43-101, as the disclosure contained the quantity and grade of a deposit that has not been categorized as a mineral resource or mineral reserve, and the disclosure of quantity and grade is not expressed using ranges nor does it provide information and mandatory cautionary language required by sections 2.3(2)(a) and (b) of NI 43-101. In addition, a part of the aforementioned estimate of the exploration target is now included within the inferred and indicated mineral resource estimates, and as such, the Company has retracted the aforementioned disclosure and replaced it on the Company’s website with the following disclosure:
“The target is 450 to 500 million tons grading between 0.05 and 0.07% molybdenum, 0.2 and 0.3% copper, 90 to 110 ppb rhenium, 1.9 to 2.1 grams of silver per ton, 0.08 and 0.12 grams of gold per ton based on the projection of the area drilled on the property to limits of visible mineralization on surface.
The target and the potential quantity and grade is conceptual in nature as there has been insufficient exploration work done to define Mineral Resources as defined by NI 43-101, and it is uncertain if further exploration would result in establishing the existence of Mineral Resources.”
IEMR intends to file a new technical report in respect of the Pine Tree Property prepared entirely by independent qualified persons, which technical report is to also correct certain typographical errors identified by the BCSC as part of its review.
Shaun M. Dykes, M.Sc. (Eng), P.Geo., is the Company’s qualified person for the Pine Tree Project who approved the disclosure of the scientific and technical information contained in this news release.
