Swift Options Third Property Near Castlegar

Property Options & Staking

Vancouver – Oct 18, 2010 – Swift Resources Inc. (the “Company”) (TSX-V: SWR), has acquired a third property in the Castlegar area of southern British Columbia. The Klovance property is an early stage lead-zinc-silver property, which the company has optioned from Nelson-area prospectors Bruce Doyle and Tom Cherry. It is located 4 kilometres east of the company's Amazing Grace property and 8 kilometres southeast of the company's Skarn property. The newly acquired Klovance property consists of 6 claims which cover an area of 780 Ha. This brings the total size of the company's Castlegar Project to approximately 6500 Ha.

The terms of the Klovance Option Agreement include the payment of a total of $135,000 and the issuance to the vendors of a total of 1,500,000 shares of Swift in installments, payable in full by the third anniversary of the TSX-V Approval Date of the agreement. Additionally, Swift will pay the vendors an annual advance royalty of $50,000 commencing on the fourth anniversary of the Approval Date, and continuing on each successive anniversary until the property is placed into commercial production. Swift may purchase from the vendors one-third of a 3% NSR royalty by the payment of $1,000,000 at any time.

Salmo prospector, Joe Klovance, discovered impressive argillite-hosted lead-zinc-silver mineralization on the property in the 1970's while conducting road-building work. Following discovery, Mr. Klovance explored at least 5 areas of mineralization by bulldozer stripping. There is evidence of earlier historic exploration on the property, including an old prospect shaft, but no documentation of this work, of Mr. Klovance's work, or of any subsequent work on the property.

To date, five main areas of mineralization have been located on the claims. The known showings occur over a horizontal distance of 400 metres and over a vertical range of 120 metres, and appear to represent two distinct zones of mineralization. Limited rock sampling by Swift has returned values including 34% Pb, 3.9% Zn, and 442 g/t Ag from one showing, and 7.2 % Pb, 7.4% Zn and 733 g/t Ag from a second area of mineralization. Other samples collected by the company returned results of similar tenor, as listed below. A soil geochemical survey is currently underway on the property.

The Klovance property is a good complement to Swift's two other Castlegar-area properties, the Amazing Grace and Skarn properties. Swift has recently completed a soil sampling and limited rock sampling program on the Skarn property, where gold skarn mineralization is known. Values to 9 g/t Au were returned from mineralization exposed in a historic trench on the property, as previously reported (see news release SWR:2010-08-23). Samples from a second area of mineralization, 500 meters to the east, returned 1.7 g/t Au with 0.5% Cu. During the recent work program on the property, a third area of mineralization was discovered a further 300 meters to the northeast. Sample results from this new discovery are pending, as are the results from the soil geochemical survey.

On the Amazing Grace property, numerous showings are known, representing a variety of styles of mineralization. Spectacular gold (+/- silver) values have been returned from initial rock samples collected by the company from gold-bearing quartz veins or zones of sheeted and/or stockwork quartz veins on the property, such as the Maude S, BW, Free Gold, Meister and High Grade showings. As previously reported, results have included 1000.6 g/t Au with 531.5 g/t Ag and 7% Pb from the BW showing, 410.5 g/t Au (also from the BW showing), 18.1 g/t Au (Free Gold showing), 37.3 g/t Au (Meister showing) and 53.9 g/t Au (High Grade showing) (see news releases SWR:2010-07-26; 2009- 10-27). With the exception of limited work at the High Grade showing, none of these occurrences have been tested by modern trenching or drilling. Several large areas of intense quartz-pyrite-sericite alteration with associated zones of veining occur on the property, which are similarly untested by any previous work. Near the Maude S showing, one such zone of alteration and quartz stockwork veining returned 85.6 g/t Au (see news release SWR:2009-10-27). Areas of skarn mineralization also occur, including a zone of tungsten (+molybdenum) skarn, also untested by any previous work. Rock samples collected by the company from this area returned values to 0.25% W and 0.11% Mo (see news release SWR:2010-07-26). During 2010, the company's work program on the Amazing Grace property focused on preparing and prioritizing targets for trenching and diamond drilling, and on earlystage work in unexplored parts of the property.

Samples reported in this release were grab samples collected to determine the presence or absence of mineralization. The results should not be interpreted as being representative of average grade. Sample weight was variable, ranging from 0.9 to 2.4 kg, and averaging 1.6 kg. Samples were analyzed at Acme Analytical Laboratories in Vancouver, an ISO 9001:2008 accredited laboratory. Analyses were by Group 7 multi-element assay by ICP emission spectrometry.
