NEWS RELEASE
January 28, 2015 – Vancouver, British Columbia:
Results of an airborne survey of the Hot Property
Xander Resources Inc. (XND: TSX.V) (“Xander” or the “Corporation”)
Xander has an option to acquire 100% interest in the Hot property located about 65 km (39.7 mi) north of the town of Smithers in north-central British Columbia.
The Hot property hosts a calc-alkalic porphyry copper-molybdenum target. Deposits of this type are normally mined from open pits using high-volume production methods.
In October, 2014 the Company obtained the opinion of a licensed professional geoscientist that an airborne survey comprising electromagnetic and magnetic surveys would expedite and refine the 2015 work program. See the news release of November 3, 2014. Xander commissioned Precision GeoSurveys Inc. (“Precision”) of Vancouver, British Columbia to conduct helicopter-borne magnetic and radiometric surveys over the Hot property. The surveys were flown from October 23 to November 1, 2014. Precision is arms-length to Xander.
The results of the recent airborne surveys are consistent with both regional magnetic data and with previous ASTER false-colour satellite data interpretation of the propertyarea.
The most striking feature from the current survey is revealed by the distribution of total magnetic field. It is a boundary between the highly magnetic intrusive rocks southwest of the Main Showings area and less magnetic rocks northwest of it. This feature (informally named the Central Break) is visible to lesser degrees in the distribution of vertical magnetic gradient and in the results of the radiometric survey. It trends northwestsoutheast for at least 4.5 km (2.75 mi) through the Main gossan. It is centered on the Main Showings area and trends by it on its northeastern side. The Central break represents a nearly vertical margin of the Mount Thoen intrusion which may have been the location of repeated fault dislocation during emplacement of the Mount Thoen intrusion and the development of the Hot hydrothermal system.
Results of the radiometric survey reveals that the Hot hydrothermal system is an ovoid centered on the Main Showings area that covers an area of at least 18 km2 (6.7 mi2). Only the central third of the hydrothermal system is covered by the Main gossan. The Central break may be the system’s primary mineralizing conduit.
Information gained from the recent airborne surveys encourages Xander to increase focus on the area along the Central Break during its up-coming ground exploration on the Hot property.
