AurCrest Gold Announces Further Staking in Birch Lake Greenstone Belt

TORONTO, ONTARIO- (Feb. 11, 2011) - AurCrest Gold Inc. ("AurCrest" or the "Company") (TSX-V:AGO) wishes to announce that it has staked 85 mining claim units for a total of 3,400 acres located 100 km east northeast of Red Lake, Ontario. The Company’s newly acquired Birch Lake Property is 100% owned, and situated in the northeastern part of the Birch Lake Greenstone Belt between the previous Argosy gold producer and the Gold Canyon Springpole Project. The Springpole Gold Project operated by Gold Canyon Resources Inc., which announced a diamond drilling intersection of 132 metres of 2.30 g/t Au on October 12, 2010, is situated on the Property’s southern boundary.

The decision to stake these claim units by AurCrest was based on the presence of a number of gold occurrences adjacent to and on islands within Birch Lake in context of the Ontario Government’s regional airborne magnetometer and electromagnetic survey coverage over the area of interest and its spatial relationship to both the Springpole Project and Argosy past producer. The property is contiguous to the AurCrest Richardson Lake Property. On January 25, 2011, the Company announced that it had staked 336 mining claim units for a total of 13,440 acres located 80 km east northeast of Red Lake, Ontario.The Company is continuing to stake claims in the area of the Birch Lake Greenstone Belt.
