VELA MINERALS ANNOUNCES PASSING OF RICHARD GRAYSTON

May 1, 2019 – Vancouver, British Columbia – Vela Minerals Ltd. (the “Company”) (TSXV: VLA)

announces that its Chief Executive Officer, Richard Grayston, has passed away. The board of

directors expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Grayston, and its gratitude for

his many contributions to the Company.

Effective immediately, Alex Klenman has been appointed to the board of directors, and as Chief

Executive Officer, to fill the vacancy created by Mr. Grayston’s passing.
