LUCKY MINERALS ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR AND CFO
Vancouver, B.C. May 18, 2017 – Lucky Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: LJ) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has appointed Francis Akpata as a member of its board of directors and Robert Rosner, a director of the Company, as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. The appointments of Mr. Akpata and Mr. Rosner were made in conjunction with the resignations of Bruce Thorndycraft as a director of the Company and Jared Scharf as Chief Financial Officer. Both Mr. Thorndycraft and Mr. Scharf resigned for personal reasons and the Company thanks them for their efforts
Mr. Akpata currently serves as Managing Partner at Majlis Investment Partners and has more than 15 years of experience in international marketing and business development during which time he has systematically built up a network of clients/investors in the GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) the U.S. and Europe (Italy, Monaco, the UK, Switzerland and Scandinavia).
Francis was previously the Head of Investor Relations at Acropolis Capital, a family office that invests in hedge funds and private equity. Prior to that he was at Mellon Global Investments (now Bank of New York Mellon) in London. Francis holds a BA degree from King’s College London in Philosophy and Theology.
Francis was a Principal at Industry Capital LLC. He developed their Energy platform focusing on Oil & Gas and power in North America and Emerging markets. At Industry Capital they used bottoms up approach by ensuring the funding structure correlates with opportunity and used their portfolio companies Vflare and Vfuels to develop projects
Mr. Rosner has over 30 years of experience creating, financing and building companies, from initial concept to market buildout. He is proficient with all aspects of Canadian and U.S. securities rules and regulations, and has extensive experience in private and public company management, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and reverse takeovers. His public company experience includes the mining and oil and gas resource sectors, intellectual property management, and software development, as well as high tech and commercial goods. He has held appointments as officer and/or director of numerous public companies, serving in reporting compliance, oversight and fiduciary capacities, as well as directing corporate activities.
