MASKAL ENERGY LTD. ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF SHAREHOLDER MEETING

Calgary, Alberta - January 20, 2010 - Maskal Energy Ltd. ("Maskal" or the "Corporation"), an Alberta based public company, wishes to announce that a new board of directors was elected at the annual and special shareholder meeting held today. Shareholders at the meeting elected Daryl Fridhandler, Kent Breedlove, Burkhard Franz, Savi Franz and Lorraine McVean to serve as directors until the next annual meeting of shareholders or until their successors are duly elected or appointed. Burkhard Franz, who resides in Kelowna, British Columbia, has been appointed Chairman of the new board of directors.

In addition, shareholders at the meeting approved a motion to adjourn the meeting with respect to one matter of business, being approval of the sale of all or substantially all of the assets of the Corporation. The meeting is adjourned to Tuesday January 26, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location (Suite 850, 401 – 9 Avenue SW, Calgary AB) at which time this matter of business will be brought before shareholders for their consideration.
