Hybrid Minerals Inc. is a Canadian-based exploration company focused on the acquisition and development of production grade cobalt deposits in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner in North America. Hybrid Minerals Inc. holds a 100% stake in the CAS Project located in the Idaho Cobalt Belt.
Mr. Phillips has 16 years of experience in the resource and energy sectors. From 2011 until June 2018 Mr. Phillips held various senior positions with Potash Ridge Corporation, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. While there, he led the development of the Blawn Mountain Project in Utah from early stage exploration through to its most recent prefeasibility study, including obtaining all major permits for the project and identifying over 40 years of mineral reserves as well as leading several successful rounds of funding.
Mr. Phillips served as a Director of First Cobalt Corporation (TSX-V:FCC) from early 2017 until June 2018, including as chairman until October 2017. During this time First Cobalt successfully built a portfolio of North American cobalt assets, creating significant value for FCC shareholders.
Previously, Mr. Phillips was Senior Manager, Financial Analytics and later Director of Business Development at Capital Power Corporation, one of Canada's largest power generation companies. Prior to that time, from 2003 to 2009, Mr. Phillips held various senior roles at Sherritt International Corporation, a diversified resource company that produces nickel, cobalt, thermal coal, oil and electricity.
Mr. Phillips has a Master of Arts in Resource Economics and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta and is a CFA Charterholder and CPA, CMA.
“The cobalt market will be drastically underserved starting in the near term as the demand for batteries, driven by the demand for clean energy, continues to expand well beyond the current cobalt supply.” stated Mr. Phillips. “The Idaho Cobalt Belt is North America’s best opportunity to develop a cobalt supply for the expanding lithium-ion battery market, and Hybrid Mineral’s CAS project is one of the best assets in Idaho. I look forward to successfully developing the CAS project and creating value for the Hybrid Minerals shareholders.”
