NEW DIRECTOR AND PRESIDENT APPOINTED

Vancouver January 11, 2012 – Catalina Metals Corp. (NEX: CTX.H) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Allan W. Williams as director and President of the Company.

Mr. Williams has over 28 years experience as a businessman and entrepreneur in public markets. Over the years Mr. Williams has worked with numerous companies in both the energy and junior mining sectors. He has held management and executive positions in both sectors and has extensive experience in project planning and development. He has raised in excess of 150 million dollars for companies in North America.

Mr. Kim Phillips has stepped down as President but will remain a director of the Company.
