BOB CHENERY TO JOIN BOARD DON PADGETT RESIGNS

January 19, 2012 – Vancouver, BC, Canada – Vangold Resources Ltd. (TSXV: VAN) (“Vangold” or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Robert Chenery has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Vangold. The Company also announces it has accepted the resignation of Don Padgett. The Board wishes to thank Mr. Padgett and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.

Robert J. Chenery, Prof Eng & MBA has worked in the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry for over 40 years. This experience primarily focuses on reservoir analysis, evaluation and management throughout North America and several international locations including, Ecuador, Yemen and the UK Sector of the North Sea. Since 1981, Mr. Chenery has been President of Chenery Dobson Resource Management Ltd (CDRM), a firm specializing in the evaluation and management of oil and gas assets primarily controlled by investors, banks and other financial institutions. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Chenery is also a member, in good standing, with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). Mr. Chenery will assist the company with his expertise in dealing with Vangold’s oil and gas concessions in Armenia.
