Tres-Or Resources Ltd. (“Tres-Or”) (TSX Venture: TRS) announces with sorrow the passing of our director Mr. John P. Larche, C.M. of Timmins, Ontario. We wish to express sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Larche.
A renowned ambassador for the mining industry, Mr. Larche was one of the most successful explorationists in Canada. He was inducted as a member of the Order of Canada in 2002. This citation commends Mr. Larche for having worked tirelessly to advance the mineral exploration and development industry in Canada.
Mr. Larche became involved in the exploration business in 1955 as an independent prospector and contractor, working the land, staking and exploring in the hopes of a discovery. It was in the 1980’s when Mr. Larche became a co-discoverer of the Hemlo Gold Camp, now one of the most prolific mining camps in the country. He received the Prospector of the Year Award in 1983 and was named Prospector of the Year by the Northern Miner in 1987. He served as President of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada from 1987 to 1989. Mr. Larche served and participated in many mining industry related positions and was very generous with his time and expertise.
Mr. Larche will be sadly missed by his family, friends and industry associates. He is survived by his wife Dolores and his 5 children and 16 grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Notre Dame de la Paix Church, Timmins. Interment is at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. His family requests that remembrance donations are to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation.
