Boss Power Corp. Responds to Media Reports and Announces New Board Member
Vancouver, B.C. – Wednesday, April 30, 2014: Boss Power Corp. (TSX.V: BPU) (“Boss Power”) confirms it is aware of the claim (the “Claim”) filed with the Supreme Court of British Columbia by Mr. Adam Travis (“Travis”) and Cazador Resources Ltd. (“Cazador”) naming Boss Power as a defendant. Although the Claim was filed with the Court, Boss Power has not been served with a Notice of Civil Claim. The limitation period for filing the Claim was set to expire in April, 2014.
The Claim also names Blizzard Uranium Corp and the Province as defendants. The Claim asserts, inter alia, Travis and/or Cazador have rights and interests in certain mineral claims that are the subject of the Blizzard Settlement, and seeks damages and/or compensation for the expropriation, taking or breach of its rights and interests respecting those mineral claims.
Boss Power was previously aware of the assertions being made by Travis and Cazador in the Claim and is in discussions with Travis and Cazador. All the terms of the agreements with Travis and Cazador were met save for the advance production royalties which were never realized. Management believes the Claim is without merit and, if served with the Claim, Boss Power will vigorously defend itself.
Currently, Boss Power’s primary focus is on closing the settlement agreement with the Province of British Columbia (the “Province”) dated October 19, 2011 (the “Blizzard Settlement”). As announced on April 1, 2014, Boss Power reached a settlement of its disputes with Morning Star Resources Ltd., Magic Dragon Ventures Ltd. and Anthony Beruschi, which management believes will allow the Blizzard Settlement to close, ensuring the $30,000,000, plus costs, compensation amount is not revoked by the Province. For additional Information respecting the Blizzard Settlement see the Boss Power Press Release dated October 20, 2011.
Boss Power will provide a further update respecting the completion of the Blizzard Settlement once additional information is known.
